Spanning over 30 years, he began his musical career at the age of 16 practising the art of Turntablism and Club DJing. Whilst honing his craft playing at local events and venues, he chanced upon a ‘Youth Arts’ funded centre housing a recording studio, which gave him the opportunity to experiment with music production combined with Turntablism.
As a DJ he has made regular guest appearences at major clubs and festivals on the electronic music circuit including Ministry of Sound, Global Gathering and Lost Village, with music productions signed to labels across the globe, receiving plays from many household name DJ’s and Radio stations including Radio 1.
Although continuing with DJing and running his recording and production studio, he recently stepped down from a 10 year stint working with major music
equipment manufacturers on the corporate side of the music industry, ready to fully focus on his passion for pushing the boundaries of electronic and live music.
Internationally renowned musician, producer & songwriter Sebastian ‘bid’ Beresford cut his teeth from the age of 17 performing with the late, great Motown artist Edwin Starr – ‘War, What Is It Good For’. Since then he has gone on to perform, produce and/or remix with many global artists and acts such as Alexander O’Neal – ‘If You Were Here Tonight’, electronic pioneers Leftfield – ‘Phat Planet’, more recently Oscar winning Sixto Rodriguez – ‘Searching for Sugarman’ and international DJ’s Above & Beyond to name a few.
From the infamous Glastonbury festival to Palm Springs Coachella, the Sydney Opera House to the Hollywood Bowl, London’s Ronnie Scotts to the prestigious Montreux Jazz festival and with so many in-between, his professionalism and understanding of delivering in the musical arena is world class.
His songwriting and production credits boast a string of successes with Platinum & Gold selling albums while signed to Warner Brothers dance act Arkarna whose tunes have appeared in US sitcoms, Hollywood blockbusters and kids TV shows.
As one half of the production duo ‘Dirty Geezers’, published to iconic record producer Trevor Horns Perfect Songs, he’s written produced and/or recorded for the likes of Lily Allen, Texas, T.A.T.U, Blazing Squad and the D4. Also providing music for television, film and advertising campaigns with the re branding of international corporations as well as composing for major broadcasters with clients including Rimmel, FHM, Aviva, the BBC, ITV and Film4.
He is the author of ‘The Art of eDrumming’, the first book written which combines the world of drumming with technology and is a true advocator of the electronic drumkit, delivering masterclasses on the subject to music colleges across the UK for 10 years.
